ASUR’s Strategic Partner is Inversiones y Técnicas Aeroportuarias, S.A.P.I. de C.V. (“ITA”). In December of 1998, ASUR and ITA entered into a technical assistance agreement, according to which ASUR has a permanent license, which is exclusive in Mexico, to use the technical assistance and know-how transferred by ITA during the period of the agreement.
ITA owns 22,950,000 BB-series shares in ASUR, which represent 7.65% of total capital stock. It belongs, in turn, to Fernando Chico Pardo, a prominent Mexican investor, who has a 51% stake in ITA; and Grupo ADO, S.A. de C.V., one of the biggest ground transport companies in Mexico, which has a 49% stake in ITA. In addition to their respective shareholdings in ITA, both Fernando Chico Pardo and Grupo ADO have direct stakes in the capital stock of ASUR representing approximately 12.5% each.
